The American Family Insurance Championship will for the first time take place on Madison’s Northside, at TPC Wisconsin, formerly known as the Cherokee Golf Course. The tournament, previously held at the University Ridge Golf Course, will take place at TPC Wisconsin from June 6–8.
Military members and first responders will be admitted without cost for two tickets each. Other adults will pay $20 per day, except that those over 50 will pay $15. Tickets can be obtained online at the event website: amfamchampion
ship.com.
This year’s event will feature a new team format, according to organizer and popular Madison pro golfer Steve Stricker. “This format adds a level of intrigue and competition to the game,” said Stricker, who played in this format at the Ryder Cup. The 2025 American Family Championship will feature a field of 76 players, organized into 38 teams of two. The top 38 players, based on PGA Tour Champions eligibility standards, will choose their partners. Competing for a total $3 million purse, the winning team will share $600,000. The new format will continue as a 54-hole competition over three days.
Since its inception in 2016, the tournament and associated events have raised more than $17 million for American Family Children’s Hospital and other charities.
Parking details are still being worked out, but parking will be offsite with a shuttle provided.
The TPC Wisconsin golf course, co-designed by Stricker, features breath-
taking scenery and impeccably maintained fairways.
The event will also feature a country music concert on Friday, June 6, at Breese Stevens Field, headlined by Megan Moroney with special guest Clint Black and opening act Emily Ann Roberts.
