ARTS for ALL Wisconsin celebrates 40 Years

By Christina Martin-Wright
Arts for All

2025 marks the 40th anniversary of Arts for All Wisconsin (AFA), formerly known as Very Special Arts Wisconsin (VSA). A member of the Northside business community for many years, AFA made our home at Northgate Shopping Center from 2011 to 2023. Since moving our administrative home to the Madison Youth Arts Center (MYArts), 1055 E. Mifflin St., we have continued to offer programming on the Northside at the Community Support Network and Warner Park.

For 40 years and through several name changes, we have maintained our commitment to offer adaptive and inclusive creative arts programming for children and adults with disabilities of all kinds throughout the state of Wisconsin.

AFA will celebrate this milestone Saturday, May 17, from 3:30–8 pm, during our annual Creative Power Awards Celebration. This special event is our way of expressing heartfelt gratitude to the board members, staff, volunteers and participants whose dedication and passion have made this achievement possible. The community is encouraged to attend.

AFA is committed to accessibility at the awards celebration. When you reserve your tickets through our online form (artsforallwi.org/programs/creative-power/2025-creative-power-awards), you will be prompted to inform us of any accommodation you or your guests may need. If you have any questions, contact us at info@artsforallwi.org or 608-241-2131.

The Creative Power Awards Celebration will take place on all four floors of the MYArts Center, a wheelchair-accessible space with two centrally located elevators and easy drop-off locations via parking garage and outdoor entrances. The awards presentation will take place in the Starlight Theater on the fourth floor.

For more information about the Creative Power Awards Celebration, contact Christina Martin-Wright at 608-241-2131, ext. 203 or christina@artsforallwi.org.
