This coming April 1 the spring election will decide who serves the Northside of Madison as District 12 and District 18 Alders on the next Madison Common Council. Amani Latimer Burris (District 12) is the incumbent and is running against Julia Matthews. Hussein Amach was initially a candidate but withdrew due to a family emergeny. In District 18 the incumbent Charles Myadze is not seeking reelection but there are two new candidates vying for this role: Carmella Glenn and Kevin Monroe. The Northside Planning Council is planning and facilitating two candidate forums so Northsiders can meet these individuals seeking to serve and ask whatever questions are most important to them. Details regarding these candidate forums are found on the calendar and in the elections section of this Northside News edition.
