Dear Neighbors,
I’m happy to share some updates about our community! First, I’m thrilled to see new safety improvements for Mendota Elementary School. Speed bumps have been installed in front of the school, and a new stoplight at the Northport and School Road intersection ensures our kids’ safety. As a parent of three children who attended Mendota, I know how important these changes are for families.
Now, onto Warner Park. I’m excited to report that construction on the Warner Park Community Recreation Center expansion will begin this fall! Vogel Brothers Construction is under contract with the city, following the Common Council’s approval of the budget amendment and contract award in August. I worked to secure $2,587,000 through a 2024 Capital Budget amendment to support this project. While projects like these take time, it’s great to see them come to fruition.
Since being elected in 2021, I’ve served on several committees, including the Warner Park Recreation Center Committee and the Parks Committee. I understand how important this expansion is for our community. The project will enhance the center’s ability to host youth activities, community events, and wellness programs, benefiting all ages.
While I’ve worked hard to advocate for these efforts, they wouldn’t be possible without the collaboration of city staff, fellow alders, and community support. It’s a collective effort, and I’m grateful for the teamwork that brings these projects to life.
Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to seeing the positive impact these improvements will have on our neighborhood.
