For many people, the American Dream means owning your own business. Being an entrepreneur. Working for yourself. Stylists who dream of being their own boss without the hassle and expense of starting a salon from the ground up now have an opportunity to rent a chair in a successful Northside beauty salon.

“Chair rental in an established salon is an industry trend,” said Darcy Gillitzer, owner of Serenity Salon. “It is spreading in popularity because you can own an independent business without having to be out there by yourself.” Stylists nationwide are finding this to be a cost effective way to start their own business and be in charge of their own hours and pricing structure, as well as the services and products they offer. Of most importance, it is motivating experienced stylists to stay in the industry.

“I loved the idea of providing the opportunity for experienced stylists to be able to start a business within my business,” shared Gillitzer. “I’ve been in business for 13 years and have enjoyed being an entrepreneur on the Northside. This is a supportive community that values the growth of the business community where they live. I wanted to open the door for others to follow their dreams. Serenity Salon offers the entrepreneurial stylist a great salon atmosphere, and a strong and established client base that provides them with overflow clientele. I hope to find experienced stylists who are passionate about the industry, provide consistent quality work and value customer service,” said Gillitzer.

For any rental situation, stylists need 2,000 hours of licensed practice and have to pass the exam to obtain their manager license. Serenity Salon is located at 1857 Northport Dr., in the Northside TownCenter at Sherman Avenue and Northport Drive.
