For the last ten years Molly Lenius has been perfecting her cookie business, and in 2023 she made it all the way to the top. At 5,555 boxes, not only is Molly the top cookie seller in Badgerland Council, but in the entire state of Wisconsin.
“It really is an impressive accomplishment,” said Girl Scouts of Wisconsin-Badgerland Council CEO Lisa Smith. “Molly’s name tops a list of almost 4,000 Girl Scouts in our council who sold cookies this year. I can’t emphasize enough how much determination, persistence and ingenuity is required to reach this goal. Congratulations, Molly!”
Altogether, Girl Scouts in Badgerland Council’s 23-county jurisdiction sold over 1.5 million boxes of Girl Scout Cookies. For context, the average Girl Scout will sell 391 boxes of cookies. Molly sold more than 10 times the average amount.
The East High School junior has been selling Girl Scout Cookies since she first joined Girl Scouts, and she’s always happy to share her tips. One of the features of Badgerland’s Top Cookie Sellerbration was the opportunity to “Meet Molly.” Sharing her time and knowledge with others is just one example of how Molly embodies everything it means to be a Girl Scout.
Along with goal setting, decision making, money management and people skills, the Girl Scout Cookie Program aims to help girls understand and practice good business ethics. After paying the bakers, 100% of Girl Scout Cookie sales stays local.
Girl Scout Cookies will be back in March 2024. Keep an eye out for Molly and her fellow Girl Scouts this spring.
