Circle of Friends discontinues cookie sales

I attended the June WPCRC Family Fun Night and spoke to parents and many of the kids. When I told them I was with the Circle of Friends (CoF) that funds the program, they thanked me and said they look forward to coming every month.

Pizza and sandwiches were available, along with a movie, face painting, the craft room, bingo, ballon twisting, and two new gyms with a bounce house and basketball. I was told it wasn’t as busy as usual, which could have been due to the beautiful weather.

The CoF will be sponsoring additional Family Fun Nights at the WPCRC. We hope to see you in the fall enjoying time with your family and friends. There will be no Family Fun Nights in July or August, but will start again on Sept. 18. The BIG Halloween Family Fun Night will be held Oct. 30. Kids age11 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

With sadness I must tell you we will not be doing cookie sales on Election Day. Due to early voting and the low use of the fitness room, we don’t have sufficient sales or the volunteer bakers needed to continue.

As I mentioned in previous articles, the indoor aquatic center is still a very important goal. We are continuing our search for several major donors and need your help.

Membership in the CoF is open to all residents who support the Warner Park Community Recreation Center and want to be a part of its continuing growth and success. Board members are selected from CoF members who have volunteered to help and have time to participate on a working board. Our board members are all volunteers. We have no paid staff. New members and volunteers are always welcome.
