East Madison Community Center
Sixty years! That’s a lot of summer camps, after school snacks, field trips, food baskets, community celebrations, friendships and memories.
On July 25, East Madison Community Center (EMCC) celebrated this milestone with our 60th Anniversary Jubilee, and what a celebration it was.
Guests enjoyed a petting zoo, dunk tank, music from DJs Fusion and Fabulove, Culver’s custard and lunch, a children’s book reading, Zumba and fitness demonstrations, EMCC Bingo, and a walk down EMCC’s Memory Lane filled with photos, activities and plenty of “Remember when…?” moments. Community partners joined the fun and shared valuable resources throughout the afternoon.
A special thank you to Alders Madison and Matthews and EMCC Board Member Tauri Robinson for helping welcome the community and celebrate this milestone with us. We also had some very special and very popular guests: Mallards Maynard, the Chick-fil-A Cow and Culver’s Scoopie.
The Jubilee brought together current and former participants, staff, volunteers, families, friends and community partners. It was a wonderful reminder that after 60 years EMCC is still all about the people.
A very special thank you goes to our event sponsors, community partners, and many volunteers who gave their time, energy, resources and support to make the celebration possible. We couldn’t have celebrated 60 years without you.
And the celebrating isn’t over yet. Save the date for EMCC’s 30th Annual Bowl-a-thon at Dream Lanes on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 12–3 pm. Join us for another EMCC tradition filled with fun, community and support for our programs. Visit eastmadisoncc.org for bowler and sponsorship information.
Here’s to 60 years of community, memories and fun — and many more celebrations to come.
