Community members from East Madison Community Center (EMCC) recently attended Taste the Future, a popular local event hosted by FEED Kitchens that showcases new and emerging food businesses from across the Madison area. The event gave attendees the opportunity to sample a wide variety of free dishes while supporting local entrepreneurs and learning more about the city’s growing food scene.

The outing has quickly become one of EMCC’s favorite annual trips, bringing people together through food, conversation and shared experiences. Attendees enjoyed tasting everything from savory entrees to creative desserts. One standout favorite this year was the cheese bread waffles (Pao de Quiero Waffles) from Pira Bites, which quickly became a crowd favorite among the group.

Beyond the delicious food, the event offered a chance for community members to connect with one another while exploring new cultures and cuisines in a welcoming environment.

Trips like Taste the Future continue to be an important part of EMCC programming, helping bring people together, reduce social isolation, and create memorable experiences for participants of all ages.
