Madison College
Madison College is more than a place to learn; it’s also a welcoming community destination for neighbors who enjoy theatre, music and art.
This spring, community members are invited to attend free and low-cost performances, concerts and exhibits at the Madison College Truax Campus, 1701 Wright St.
“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” debuts April 17–19 at the Mitby Theatre. Six quirky middle schoolers compete in a local spelling bee, revealing their funny, poignant and awkward personal lives through catchy songs and audience participation.
The Tony Award-winning musical is experiencing a Broadway revival nearly 20 years after its original debut. Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for ages 17 and under, and free for Madison College students.

Celebrate art
The Yahara Journal Student Art Show, April 30–May 15 at the Gallery at Truax, features a wide range of creative styles and reflects the imagination of student artists. The popular art exhibit coincides with the release of the Yahara Literary Journal, published each spring.
For more information, visit the Madison College Gallery at Truax campus web page or gallery@madisoncollege.edu 608.243.4576.
The Gallery at Truax hosts community exhibits throughout the year.
Opening reception attendees will enjoy an engaging and celebratory atmosphere with artists and fellow art enthusiasts, complete with a live art demonstration, hors d’oeuvres and wine tasting.
The show reflects the talent and dedication of Madison College’s Continuing Education art class students. It’s an excellent opportunity to explore the possibilities of community-based art education and learn how to get involved.
