The Northport Apartments and Packer Townhomes have had a busy year in 2025. One of the most significant changes occurred at Packer Townhomes with a transition in management. For the past 30 years, Sandra Willis-Smith faithfully managed the Packer Townhomes, pouring her heart and soul into the community. Earlier this year, Sandra retired, and Kimberly Stewart stepped into the role of site manager.

Kimberly has worked at Northport Apartments and Packer Townhomes for several years and was also once a resident of the community. Because of her strong connection and familiarity with the property, the transition has been smooth. While residents miss Sandra tremendously, they have been pleased and reassured to have Kimberly in this leadership position.

In addition, the Packer Townhomes Community Center welcomed a new manager, Makayla Allen. Makayla has embraced her role with enthusiasm and has truly hit the ground running. She has successfully partnered with several outside organizations to provide enriching experiences for the children in the community.

These partnerships include the WCO Super Strings Program, where children learn to play the violin; Drum Power, which teaches children how to play drums from different regions of the country; and Rooted, a weekly program that helps children learn to cook healthy meals while developing an appreciation for nutritious food.

The Northport Apartments continue to do amazing work at the center of the community. They recently hosted their annual Art Show, where children proudly showcased art projects they have been working on throughout the year. The event was a major success, with every child selling at least one painting. This community continues to thrive and make meaningful, positive impacts on the lives of its tenants.

Transitioning into 2026, the North Police District looks forward to shared growth and continued success with both neighborhoods.
