Northport Community Learning Center

My name is Linda Hang, and I am the Learning Activities Coordinator for the Northport Community Learning Center. It’s been so fun working with all the students in our afterschool program. I have taken students on fun and educational interactive field trips. We’ve explored parks and nature centers, engaged in activities at the libraries, worked with an author at the Overture Center, cooked delicious food, and learned some songs on the djembe.

This fall, students come in for homework help from staff in the center. I’ll be there, too, to help students with homework and reading. Even if there’s no homework, that’s okay. Students can engage in reading and learning activities to strengthen their skills.

On Fridays, it’s Friday Fun Day. Each week we do fun activities, like baking apple pie, making keychains with perler beads, and many other arts and crafts.

I want to take this opportunity to thank our volunteers, Ms. Stacie and Ms. Lauren, for helping throughout the summer and school year. If you are interested in volunteering, please email us at pwongkit@icloud.com. Thank you.
