I’m retired. That’s a good thing, but it means I’ve lost some of the community connections I had when I had a job and kids in school. Now I look to the Northside News for information about our neighborhood.

Without the Northside News, I might not know about the great things that are happening in our Northside schools. Check out our Schools & Youth section for stories on scholarships, scouts, Troy Kids Garden, and a race named for a wonderful little boy.

Without the Northside News, I might not know about the work of nature friends groups that volunteer their time in our parks and natural areas. Check out the Environment section for stories on air quality, bees, birds and mudsnails (yes, I said mudsnails).

Without the Northside News, I might not know all that our elected officials are doing to make Madison a great place to live. Check out our Elected Officials section for news on the work being done at the city, county and state levels.

Without the Northside News, I might not know the details of the three constitutional amendments on the November ballot. Check out the Elections section for that information and everything you need to know about where and how to vote.

Without the Northside News, I might not know about the plethora of community events and programs happening here. Check out our Community section for news about the Northside Festival, Farmers Market, Bucket Farms, library programs and community centers.

Without the Northside News, I might not know about happenings at area businesses. Check out our Business section for news about Little Tibet Market and Café, Tom Miekle’s retirement from Ace Hardware, and the latest offerings at Willy Street Co-op.
