Scout Troop 127

Scout Troop 127 had an exciting spring. In April, the troop volunteered at the Bird and Nature Festival at Warner Park. They assisted Wild Warner in hosting the event and also ran an information table about Scouting America. The event gave scouts the chance to spend time outdoors while learning more about the environment and different bird species. Many scouts enjoyed exploring the festival, meeting community members, and telling them about scouting.

In May, the troop attended a ropes course, had a Court of Honor, and went camping at Mirror Lake State Park in Wisconsin Dells. At the ropes course, scouts worked through different challenges that tested teamwork, confidence and problem-solving skills. During the Court of Honor, scouts were recognized for their achievements, hard work and rank advancements. A few scouts also attended the campout at Mirror Lake, where they spent time outdoors and enjoyed some beautiful spring weather.

This summer, the troop is going on a high-adventure trip to Sea Base, a national Scouting America high adventure base located in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where the scouts will sail on a boat for a week. They will learn to sail and snorkel, and will enjoy the pristine waters while being on island time. Twelve scouts and adult leaders will go on this adventure.

Also, the troop will go to two different scout camps for a week during the summer. They will come home with many new memories and skills. Troop 127 has many other events, outings and activities planned for the summer.

Scouting helps youth build confidence, character and leadership skills while exploring the outdoors and having fun adventures. To learn more about how youth ages 11–17 can join Scouts BSA Troop 127, visit: our website at troop127wi.org.
