As the 21st season of the Northside Farmers market has culminated, the managers and board of directors extend their gratitude to all the vendors, patrons and volunteers. Additionally, we would like to recognize the Northside TownCenter, Willy Street Co-op North and Old National Bank for their neighborly contributions. Everyone’ s efforts have added to the market’s success and growth.

When shopping at producer-based markets, you are supporting local, sustainable agriculture. Dollars spent at the market benefit our environment, as well as our community’s financial health.

Since its inception, this vibrant market has provided a space where residents can access fresh, locally grown produce while engaging with their neighbors in a welcoming atmosphere. It is a hub for community building. It offers a space where people of all ages and backgrounds can gather. This sense of connection strengthens the social fabric of the Northside, creating a more inclusive and supportive community.

The market season culminated with a volunteer appreciation dinner at our favorite Northside Mexican family restaurant, El Sabor De Puebla.

Our volunteers are the heart of the Northside Farmers Market, ensuring it thrives as a vibrant community hub. Their dedication primarily supports the physical setup and takedown of the market. They also are there to help answer questions patrons may have and facilitate the distribution of SNAP/EBT benefits to patrons.

By volunteering, individuals not only help sustain the market but also foster a sense of connection and belonging within the community. Every volunteer’s contribution, big or small, strengthens the market’s mission of supporting local farmers and enriching the community experience.

Thanks again to everyone who contributes to making the Northside Farmers Market more than just a place to shop — it’s a celebration of local culture, sustainability and togetherness. Its impact on Madison is profound, enriching the lives of residents while nurturing a healthier, more connected community. We are already looking forward to the next market season.
