Warner Park Community Recreation Center has had a busy summer, and the momentum is carrying straight into fall. Here’s what community members can look forward to as we head into August and September.
Fitness Center grand completion
After months of planning, preparation and efforts, the fitness center buildout is on track to wrap up in early fall. Floor plans and construction plans are finalized, and the remaining work — new walls, a redesigned entrance, storefront installation, and new equipment — is underway. Once complete, this will mark a major upgrade to the fitness center amenities available at WPCRC, giving members a fully modernized space to work out in.
Pickleball is here
With the Green Gym renovation now complete, pickleball is expanding. Staff have worked diligently to bring the reservation system fully online, making it easier than ever for players to book court times. Combined with the completed Green Gym space, this sets pickleball up for a strong fall season via our newly completed (5) indoor courts. To play pickleball, an active WPCRC ID and Fitness Center/Pickleball Membership is required. If you don’t have a Fitness Center Membership, you’re welcome to play by paying a Daily Admission fee.
Basketball camps build toward the WPCRC/North-East Fall Basketball League
The K.N.O.W. Program’s basketball camps have been a summer highlight, kicking off with sessions June 15–16 and continuing July 6–7 and August 3–4. These camps — led by former East High varsity coach Matt Miota and former East High standout and current Point Guard College Regional Director Rudy Bentley — serve grades 5–8 and are designed to feed directly into the new Warner Park East Feeder Basketball League launching this fall. August camp sessions will continue building skills and excitement ahead of league play, which will begin in mid-September.
A season of momentum
Between the Grand Opening ribbon cutting this July, a newly renovated Green Gym, an expanding pickleball program, and a fitness center on the verge of completion, Warner Park Community Recreation Center is entering fall 2026 with more to offer the community than ever before.
