Madison continues to strengthen its reputation as a hub for women’s sports and community-driven athletics, and this summer marks an exciting milestone for the region. The inaugural Wisconsin Women’s Championship is coming to the Northside, bringing the state’s first women’s golf professional-amateur tournament to Wisconsin.
Hosted by the Golf Foundation of Wisconsin in partnership with TPC Wisconsin, the championship is designed not only to celebrate elite women athletes, but also to inspire the next generation of golfers throughout Wisconsin and beyond.
The Golf Foundation of Wisconsin, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to the game, focuses on supporting girls, underserved youth, and schools that may lack the financial resources or opportunities to participate in golf. Through sponsorships and community partnerships, young athletes are able to access professional instruction, coaching, and training opportunities at TPC Wisconsin.
Beyond competition, the organization emphasizes the life lessons the game teaches — including honesty, integrity, discipline, and perseverance. Many of the girls supported through the foundation go on to compete in collegiate golf programs while carrying those values into successful careers and inspiring futures off the course as well.
The Wisconsin Women’s Championship aims to become an annual tradition that highlights not only the growth of women’s golf, but also the importance of creating equitable opportunities in sports. Organizers hope the event will attract community support, sponsors, families, and golf enthusiasts from across the state.
Community members are encouraged to attend and support this free event celebrating women in sports, youth development, and the future of golf in Wisconsin happening Wednesday, July 29 – Friday, July 31, at TPC Wisconsin (formerly Cherokee Country Club).
More information about sponsorship opportunities and future ticket details can be found at Wisconsin Women’s Championship Sponsorships.
