From costumes and hayrides to open gym and holiday shopping, Warner Park Community Recreation Center (WPCRC) has plenty planned for Northside families this fall and winter.

Halloween Family Fun Night returns Oct. 30.

One of WPCRC’s biggest and most anticipated events of the year is back. The center’s Halloween-themed Family Fun Night takes place Friday, Oct. 30, 5:30–7:30 pm, offering an evening of family fun, community connection and activities for all ages.

Local police and fire departments will join other community organizations to hand out candy and celebrate alongside Northside families. Activities will take place both indoors and outdoors, including hayrides, food carts, a photo booth, bingo, a family movie, arts and crafts, gym games and a bounce house.

Costumes are encouraged. Bring the whole family and enjoy a night of fun, laughter and community spirit. Family Fun Night is sponsored by Circle of Friends.

New weekend open gym opportunities

WPCRC is also expanding its weekend recreation offerings with two new open gym programs: Family Open Gym and 35+ Open Gym.

Family Open Gym gives parents, kids, and caregivers a chance to get active and spend quality time together, playing side by side on the court. The 35+ Open Gym is designed for adults 35 and older who want to stay active, compete and keep enjoying the game with others their age.

Open gym runs Saturdays, 8 am–12 pm, with additional 35+ Open Gym hours on Sundays, 11 am–1 pm. Residents are invited to come out, get moving, and meet their neighbors at WPCRC and through the center’s K.N.O.W. Program.

HolidayFest Arts & Crafts Fair

Save the date. The annual WPCRC HolidayFest Arts & Crafts Fair is returning in a smaller format this year. The fair will continue its tradition of taking place on the first Saturday in December, with this year’s event set for Saturday, Dec. 5, 9 am–3 pm.

A longtime Northside staple, HolidayFest brings together local vendors offering handmade gifts, treats and holiday indulgences. Organizers encourage shoppers to continue supporting the event and the vendors who make it possible.
