Northside Neighborhoods Network (N3) taking shape

By NPC

Over nine months, a group of Northside community members from multiple neighborhoods have gathered to explore how they can support one another and accomplish goals they have for their own Northside neighborhoods. Some have additionally considered how to better connect and coordinate Northsiders in anticipation of the upcoming North Area Plan (City of Madison Planning process scheduled for 2026) and the inevitable growth and development already happening and poised to continue over the coming years.

This group is grassroots, informal and still finding its way forward, led by the community members who have shown up at the table motivated by the foundational desire to love their neighbors and improve their own neighborhood and the Northside in small and (maybe) big ways.

The neighborhoods who have thus far engaged in this include: Sherman, Lerdahl Park, North Lake Mendota, Cherokee Gardens, Brentwood Village, Whitetail Ridge, and also Troy Gardens and Oscar Apartments as distinct groups within larger neighborhood areas. There are many more Northside neighborhoods that would be great to see connecting in this way together.

If you read this and want to connect your efforts and neighborhood to this growing initiative, whether you are part of a formal neighborhood association or not, reach out to director@northsideplanning
coucil.org to get connected to this exciting effort of fellow Northside neighbors.
