St. Peter Church undergoes renovation, celebrates mass in temporary church at Tournament Players Club (TPC) Wisconsin

St. Peter Parish and St. Dennis Parish (on the east side of Madison) are in the process of merging into one parish community. The new parish will be called Queen of Apostles Parish, but both churches will remain open to offer worship and outreach services to the north and east sides of Madison.

Renovation began at St. Peters Church on Jan. 6 and is expected to last until early April.

Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl has been the lead pastor of Queen of Apostles for a little over a year and is overseeing the renovation. He believes the renovation is an important investment in the future of Madison’s Northside. “We’re doing it not only for ourselves but the faith we hold and want to see passed on. To have a beautiful place to gather, to celebrate, to mourn, deepens the faith of a community. It lets people know what we believe is authentic, worthwhile and will last well after ourselves.”

The renovation will cause a temporary disruption, but TPC Wisconsin is offering a place for the parish community to celebrate weekend Mass. Fr. Gary said, “We have a wonderful relationship with TPC Wisconsin, who invited us to use their space. Literally, we will be having Mass on a tennis court, but we’re so grateful to be able to continue to gather as a community of faith.”

TPC Wisconsin has also opened their dining services to parish members to enjoy after Mass.

The community of St. Peter welcomes you to join them at TPC Wisconsin for Mass at 4 pm on Saturdays and 9 am on Sundays through April 6.
