Wake up, computer, link, join. This is what most students think about now because of virtual learning. Even though it seems easy, learning from home has many challenges. From Zoom difficulties to missing friends, these are some of the problems that come from online schooling. Now, as remote learners, these difficulties have morphed and changed.

Remember those days when we had a scheduled recess where we just had to go outside and be kids? Even though we still have that time, the motivation has left. No more friends to play hide-and-seek with and no more parks to play in. All we are left with is our devices, which suck up our day.

Another problem is Zoom, period. The teachers could accidentally mark us absent if our internet flukes or the Zoom meeting kicks us off, causing a whole new bout of stress.

Additionally, virtual learning is harder because we’re at home and we have families that talk, do school, do work and really anything else that happens at home. These things get us in trouble. If we turn on our microphone and it’s too loud, they tell us to turn it off. But if we talk in the chat, they say to use your mic. It can be super confusing.

Even though Zoom and remote learning can be hard, there are plenty of good things as well. Like staying safe at home and getting to see our families more. Quality time is really good for us and now that we have been quarantined, we don’t take our friends and families for granted. Also, pajamas all day!!!

As you can see, we all are going through our own difficulties such as online learning or losing jobs, but at the end of the day we all can come together as one.
