The construction of the Warner Park Community Recreation Center’s expansion project has surpassed the half-way point. The new gymnasium concrete floors have been poured, and mechanical system rough ins have been installed; all while the renovated and reconfigured restrooms are taking shape. Lastly, the geothermal well drilling is expected to be completed by the beginning of August.
We are so excited to open all our doors and get back to serving the community with new capacities in the not-too-distant future. As we approach an anticipated completion date, we will look forward to planning a grand re-opening!
The KNOW Program has continued to adapt and enhance its program offerings during the construction process. Throughout the 2025 MMSD Summer School Session (June 23–July 30). WPCRC’s KNOW Program has taken the show on the road. As a violence prevention measure, the KNOW program has partnered with MSCR to offer “Summer Nights at Wright.” The events take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 4:15–7:17 pm at the Wright Middle School Gymnasium. Activities provided include interactive games, arts and crafts, open gym and recreational team sports, leadership development courses, a live DJ and FREE FOOD! This event is for youth ages 11–18 years old.
Lastly, while the expansion project continues to take shape at WPCRC, we will continue to be available to host your upcoming birthday parties, weddings, baby showers and other community event rentals. We are happy to announce our new alcohol services provider, Cafe Coda, who will be taking the reins as we head into the summer season and beyond. Please contact them directly at cafecodabooking@gmail.com to have alcohol services provided at your next event with WPCRC.
